Meet the Tutors
Liss is a born performer and harbours a special passion for teaching. She exercised these attributes early through her education; winning her college nationally recognised titles & awards in music & theatre competitions - following on to delve into a Jazz Performance degree at Te Kōkī NZSM.
Liss balanced study alongside competitions such as the Pan Pacific Chorus Competition (1st), the AUSACA Acapella competition in Melbourne (3rd), Howat Nation Quartet Competition (1st) and TVNZ's reality series "The Naked Choir" (2nd). Her time has also been passionately spent collaborating with local musicians on composition projects, singing in Big Bands, and playing gigs in Te-Whanganui-a-Tara's most renowned live music venues.
As well as thriving in the Pōneke live music scene, Liss relishes in the rewarding mahi of teaching - spending much of her time coaching young singers in schools, running performance workshops, and sharing her knowledge and experience with others. Liss' greatest joy is connecting with people of all walks of life through their respective musical journeys.

Liam lives and breathes music. His passion for singing grew in vitro, with his mother dragging him to rehearsals and barbershop competitions. Liam studied performance Music at college continues with singing today.
He was part of the award winning Vocal FX Pan Pacific Competition in Australia andhas attended the
World Choir Games - (Silver award)
He was the lead in Jesus Christ Superstar and a cast member in West Side Story.

Bridget is a passionate leader and performer. She has been teaching singing in one way or another for 20 years. Her strengths lie in her ability to encourage, support and grow singers' abilities. She believes that everyone can sing and sing better, given the opportunity.
Bridget has coached + directed a number of small and large scale groups, including quartets, choruses, choirs, jazz bands, theatre productions - you name it! Not only has she passionately led many of those groups to success on the stage, she has also personally led a number of young people across the ocean to claim musical awards internationally; going above and beyond to organise and help fund trips to places such as the United States, Canada & Europe - all in the name of musical education and experience.
Adjacent to her generous contribution to music education, Bridget also performs in several prestigious groups herself; including Big Paw - a jazz quartet with growl, and Ride Like the Wind, a 70s and 80s Yacht Rock band
Bridget studied at Whitireia Polytechnic and has a Bachelor of Applied Arts, majoring in Music and Barbershop arranging.

Alex's early years were spent learning violin (13 of them!) and later viola. At the same time, he learnt drums from NZSM's Lance Phillip for 3 years. He has attended countless Jazz workshops which has ignited and fueled his love of Jazz. He discovered his passion for singing after he spent his full 5 years at college immersed in the Barbershop and Choral world. He has travelled and competed internationally with Kapiti College Choir and is a current member of Cadenza Choir - Kapiti's only Chamber Choir. He has attended many coaching weekends, where he has learned how to be the ultimate ensemble singer.
